    Kelly Nichols OD, MPH, Ph.D.

    Dr. Nichols is a Professor at the University of Houston College of Optometry. She received Doctor of Optometry degree from the UC Berkeley, followed by a residency in ocular disease in Colorado. She completed a MPH and a PhD at Ohio State University. She has current NIH funding to study dry eye in postmenopausal women in addition to funding through the pharmaceutical and contact lens industries. Dr. Nichols has been extensively involved in professional organizations including the AOA and AAO. She serves as medical advisor to the Sjogren’s Syndrome Foundation and governing board member for Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society and the Ocular Surface Society of Optometry. Dr. Nichols lectures and writes on dry eye, contact lenses, diabetes and public health, and women’s health issues.
