Kamran Hosseini M.D., Ph.D.

Vice President, Clinical & Regulatory Affairs and Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Hosseini joined InSite Vision in February 2008 as Vice President, Clinical & Regulatoy Affairs and Chief Medical Officer. He is responsible for clinical, pre-clinical and regulatory affairs, and supporting the drug development programs at InSite Vision. Prior to InSite, he participated in multiple drug delivery programs and was a resident expert and director of the ocular drug delivery program at Alza Corporation, a member of the Johnson and Johnson Family of Companies, where he provided ophthalmology and visual science expertise for new technology assessment activities aimed at enhancing the drug/device unit pipeline. Prior to joining Alza, Dr. Hosseini spent more than six years in academic research with US and European universities. He is the author or co-author of more than 45 scientific papers and oral presentations and posters, and was a member of teams that applied for several ocular and trans-dermal drug delivery patents.

Dr. Hosseini received his M.D. from the University of Groningen, Faculty of Medicine, The Netherlands; and his Ph.D. as part of a joint program at the University of Texas, Medical Branch in Galveston and the University of Maastricht, The Netherlands. He was a post doctoral fellow in retinal degenerative diseases at the University of California, San Francisco.
